I learned about the floating brace directly from its inventor, Mr. Yuris Zeltins. Yuris invented the elegant repair technique to prolong the life of many classical guitars that dip between the bridge and sound hole. Rodriguez guitars were some of the first to receive the floating brace in the 1970’s. Eventually the Rodriguez family caught on to the brace and have included the brace on many of their instruments since 1980. This is a completely reversible repair. The installation of the brace will require set up work. I measured a .60 top deflection before the brace install and less than .10 after in this particular instrument.
