This beautiful 1946 Martin D-18 came to me with the neck already separated from the body. The neck had been professionally reshaped and refinished (except the headstock veneer) at least a dozen years earlier.
It was a privilege to reset the neck on this beautiful D-45. The original bridge had been shaved down so far it needed to be replaced too.
This guitar was in the shop for a neck reset and refret. The pick guard was removed, cracks repaired and the original pick guard was reinstalled. I prefer to reuse the original parts whenever possible.
An elegant non-permanent repair technique to prolong the life of classical guitars that dip between thuebridge and sound hole.
This 1998 Thomas Humphrey has led an interesting life. It is owned by a prominent classical guitarist & professor of Classical Guitar at a major university.
